“Vision First!” is the 2019 theme of IAPB's #WorldSightDay Photo Competition. Currently accepting submissions for both professional and amateur categories, the competition is keen on putting people who are vulnerable to vision conditions under the photographer’s lens, among those are people with limited access to eye health services. Organized by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, the competition aims to “highlight the impact and strength of partnerships” in magnifying the importance of vision care around the world through the images.
Spotlighting on World Sight Day on 10 October 2019, the competition welcomes submissions of all levels of photography skills. Besides the weekly Editor's Picks which will be featured online, the winner for the professional category will bring home USD 1000, while the winner for the amateur category will be awarded a Canon 1200 D DSLR camera. The announcement of all winners will take place on 14 October 2019. The entries for the 2018 photo competition are currently on display at here.
